Water Front Update

Pic of our charter dock before Florence.  Bill Collector, Dancin Outlaw, Carolina Princes and Due South are still the only boats on the MHC docks.  We still occupy the only  four undamaged or minimal damaged slips that were left.  Great news today!  The MHC town folks were by yesterday and reconstruction will start just after first of the year.  Our charter docks are going receive a much needed redo.  They will be all new and ready for our Spring season.

December update:  We have run our last scheduled trips on the books for 2018, however we are available any day through December.  Catch the weather right and the Tuna and Wahoo are still out there!  There have been a few Blue Fin caught this month and hopefully will continue to get better on into January.  We are available through mid January for BFT.

2019:  Bill Collector will haul for seasonal maintenance around mid January and will be back ready for action by  late February.  We are now taking reservations for our 2019 season.

Rates and Website:  After several seasons without  a rate adjustment, we have had to raise our rates $75/day.  Due to ever increasing operational and maintenance expenses we had to make the adjustment.  Please note that our website www.billcollectorcharters.com still reflects our 2018 rates.
Our website has become dated and we are in the process of constructing a new one.  Be looking for the new look this Spring.  Our online interactive calendar is still up and running with its link from our old website.

Spring 2019: Bill Collector will start fishing by late February, 1st of March, last year we saw a good run of big Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna early Spring.  Our Yellowfin fishing last season had definitely  rebounded from some of the pervious years.  Last early Spring also saw nice NC Citation class Wahoo.  Round up a crew and give us a call.

2019 Tournament availability:  Bill Collector is available for Boys and Girls Club Billfish Classic and Pirates Cove Billfish Tournament.  These are the only two not yet booked for this season.  If interested for info on either of these events, give us a call.

11/18  Great Fall weather and fishing on the Crystal Coast!  Nine Wahoo today that weighed 391 LB.  Three in upper 30s and three NC Citations (66,52 and 46 pounds) .  Couple of Blackfin also.
Plenty of Wahoo bites, it was one of those days we were pulling them off, but the ones we held onto were good ones.  Good water conditions offshore and the Wahoo will keep on snapping into December.  252-247-5617

November and December Fishing
The remainder of this month through December, Bill Collector is available for offshore trips.

Wahoo action and Tuna fishing remain good when the weather has allowed us to go. You can check out the latest fishing reports on our blog.

Giant Bluefin Tuna: This is the time of year these beasts start showing up and if they do, we'll be chasing them! This is a very political and highly regulated fishery so if you have interest in catching a Bluefin Tuna, please give us a call at (252) 247-5617 for fishery details and info.

11/7 and 10/30:  Mother Nature has not been kind in 2018, she has kept us to the dock for several days with front after front. Days that we have been able to get offshore the Wahoo fishing has been good.  on 10/30 we had Fred and his crew out for several nice Wahoo, Dolphin, Blackfin and a Sail.  We canceled several days since then and were able to get back out on 11/7 with Tom and crew.  Choppy and slow in the AM, but the Wahoos went to chewing in the afternoon!  Our day ended with six nice Wahoo, couple late season Gaffers, King and Blackfin.    Wahoo action has been good and the wind cant blow forever.  We will be running offshore trips into December, so round up a crew and lets go fishing.  Also our 2019 calendar is now viewable online. www.billcollectorcharters.com

10/26 and past few days:  Friday we had Mr. Hester and his 7 yr old grandson out.  We were supposed to be chasing Wahoo offshore, but the weather did not allow it.  We changed up to a 1/2 day inshore and this young angler had a blast catching Spanish, Blues and some fat Alberts!  Thursday saw great Wahoo action with our limit of 12 for our small group and 2 nice Kings by 11 AM.  497 LB total weight.  Two NC citations, 69 and 47 LB.  Plenty of bites!  Wednesday we had to stay up inshore again due to hard NW winds.  We found our group some nice Kingfish action. On the 23rd, good Wahoo fishing with a couple more big Citation Wahoo.  22nd was a inshore day for Mr. Cooper and all his longtime college buddies, who all celebrated turning 6o years.  We had a good day of king fishing and good memories.  We had a couple more weather days last weekend, last Friday saw some good Dolphin action . Wahoo and a mix of darn good Trigger fishing couple days also.

The Wahoo bite the last two trips offshore has been outstanding with several NC Citations for the small fleet that has been fishing.  Blackfin and Sails are making a good showing .  Bill Collector has prime dates available in November and the Wahoo and Tuna action will stay good.  Round up a crew and give us a call!

8/28 and past couple of days:  Calm seas and beautiful weather on the Crystal Coast!  We have had to deal with a push of hot blue water and full moon the past few days.  The Wahoo bite slowed the past couple days, but we are scraping a few nice ones.  The bottom dwellers are liking the heat, moon and no current, they have been chewing.  Plenty of Triggers!   We have another big cool water eddy pushing up and the Wahoo and Tuna will be snapping.  Weather has been great, best of the season.  Bill Collector open next Tuesday through Thursday,  these are the only open dates in Sept, round up a crew and lets go fishing!  Forecast next week looks great.
