3/17/18 Mother Nature finally gave us a few hours of a break.  Winds subsided to around 10 knts Friday night. We were able to get out this AM.  Calm seas and light winds the first couple of hours we fished. We had a nice Wahoo and some nice Blackfin Tuna, before the wind switched to the SE and bite slowed down. By lunch things were choppy, luckily we had had a decent morning.  At days end we returned with a nice catch and a happy crew!

 

Another series of frontal passages next 24 to 48 hours with low pressure developing off our coast early this week.  Looks like our next weather window will be late week and Bill Collector is open this Friday through Sunday.  For all availability check out www.billcollectorcharters.com or give us a call.  Lets go fishing!

3/13   A report of sorts:  Like last Spring, as soon a Bill Collector splashed and was operational, Mother Nature has not been kind.  We have been blown out our first three trips, however the winds can't blow forever.  Our last stretch of good weather was just before we came out of the yard and there were good catch reports of Citation Wahoo and mix of Yellowfin and Blackfin Tuna.  March traditionally comes in like a Lion and goes out like a Lamb, well the Lion part is spot on so far, but the forecast late this week Lambish!  Looks like light winds Weekend into next week and we have dates open.   Hopefully Saturday we will have a good report for yall.

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

 

Our 2017 season had outstanding fishing, it seems to have flown by.  Good numbers of Wahoo, Tuna and Dolphin during the 2017 season.  Plenty of NC Citation class Wahoos (Wahoo 40 LB plus) for 2017!  Last spring and summer  had great Blue Marlin action along with Sails and Whites. In addition to the great Gulfstream action, there were plenty of bottom dwellers, Trigger and B-Liners.  Inshore saw lots of Spanish, Blues and Kings! 

 

2018

 

Bill Collector and crew are already gearing up for our 2018 season.  Bill Collector hauls for seasonal maintenance around January 10th and she will be back overboard and ready to fish by late February.

We are now taking reservations for the 2018 season, if you already have a trip on the books, we will be following up with you during the next two weeks.  Our 2018 calendar is viewable on our website or call, e- mail for availability anytime.  Bill Collector does have Tournament dates available this year.  Swansboro Rotary Blue Water (May 25-27), Hatteras Grand Slam( July 5-7), Dare County Boat Builders(July 26-28). 12/1  Great December weather, light NE winds and mid 60s!  Plenty of nice Kings and big Blackfin Tuna!  Plenty of action and meat for our crew today!  Bill Collector was offshore while a large fleet was inshore chasing giant Bluefin Tuna during the commercial opening.  There were several big BFT taken, but a lot of boats.  The small commercial quota available should be caught up by first of the week  What does that mean for recreational anglers?  It means by next week you can come experience catch and release fishing for these giants, with a whole lot less pressure on the fishery and have the opportunity to take a recreational fish for your freezer.  If interested in battling a fish of your lifetime, give me a call for all detail on BFT charters.  Also, Bill Collector will be available for regular Gulfstream trips through December.  Give us a call for info  Offshore or Giant Bluefin Tuna  252-247-5617
