5/13 Ana has finally left our coast. Seas calmed a bit as a cold front pushed through and the charter fleet finally got to fish again. This is not normal for the month of May, yes a rare blow out here and there in May , but never six in a row. Hopefully we have gotten that out of the way. Fishing was great today with both Dancin Outlaw and Bill Collector having full boxes. We are back out tomorrow, hopefully the fish will cooperate! Prime Summer dates available, come go fishing!
We are a for-hire sportfishing charter boat located at The Big Rock Landing on the Morehead City Waterfront. For more info or to book a trip, please call (252) 247-5617 or e-mail us at info@billcollectorcharters.com www.billcollectorcharters.com

5/9 We are under the siege of ANNA as the tropical depression lingers just off the coast. The charter fleet has not gotten out since last Wednesday. Forecast models at this time looks like it will clear our area by first of the week. Hopefully we will be back offshore by Monday or Tuesday!
The blow days have given us a chance to catch up on some maintenance items and prepare tournament tackle for later in the season. Yesterday we were lucky to have country singer James Wesley and the photo crew from Calcutta stop by the Bill Collector and Sensation for some promotional photos. He will be performing in concert May 30, 8:30 pm on the Morehead City Waterfront. He has written a song just for The Big Rock. For more info check out thebigrock.com

5/6 We had a great group out today for a bachelor party. Forecast was for light winds and slight seas, however the forecasters are not perfect. Reality, SE 18 to 20 knts and a big SE swell from the Low south of us. The fishing definitely reflected the poor conditions. At days end, Dancin Outlaw, Sensation and Bill Collector returned with a catch, Despite the weather and slow fishing, fun was had by all. Looks like the Coastal Low Pressure system will force us to the dock the next couple of days.

5/4/15 A good day with our old friend Ronnie McAdam's and crew! We scarped along this morning , but a good after noon with a nice Yellowfin, two Blackfin, four Wahoo and Dolphin. The charter fleet returned today with mixed bags. Everyone putting a respectable catch on the Dock. There were a couple of Blue Marlin encounters with the Eye Roller missing one and Capt Mark Chambers catching a 400 plus pounder on an outboard. Bill Collector back out tomorrow, Summer dates open

5/1/15 Reelin for Research Tournament, a great event every year to raise money for childrens cancer. The one day event was plagued by by high winds and seas this year. That did not matter, all the teams showed up willing to fish for what ever would bite. Most of the charter boats stayed inshore, catching King, Blues and AJ. At the end of the day fun was had by all contestant and lots of monies raised for research. Its a great and well run event, come and participate next year.
